.blog Partners with CIRA for New Registry Backend

Posted on

We’re excited to share that .blog is partnering with CIRA (the Canadian Internet Registration Authority) to move to their newly rebranded Hello Registry platform. This modern, robust registry backend already supports over 10 million domains.

What This Means for You

Most of these changes will be invisible to you as a domain owner. Your domains will continue to function exactly as they do today, with no changes to policies or the domain lifecycle.

We’ve been working closely with our registrar partners since November 2024 to ensure a smooth transition, with the migration scheduled for the end of April, 2025.

Why Make This Change?

Changing backend providers isn’t a decision we make lightly. We believe this move creates new opportunities for growth and innovation within the .blog community.

The Hello Registry platform offers enhanced performance and reliability that will benefit everyone in the .blog ecosystem – from registrars and resellers to you, the bloggers and content creators who make .blog special.

We’re grateful for your support as we take this next step in the evolution of .blog. If you have any questions about this change, please reach out to your domain registrar for more information.
